New traffic lights hurt

9 January, 2008 (15:15) | Safety, Timberline | By: admin

We recently have had the traffic signals in this area changed with the street improvement and we have already seen an accident related to this change. The following table was found at the Oregon DMV regarding the new lights. Please be aware of this change.

Many are accustomed to the understanding that it is safe to turn when you have a green or yellow arrow on a single column traffic light. This is no longer the case and that is what is confusing some drivers. Instead of spending money on ‘feel good’ signs installed into the concrete up and down Sandy Blvd. describing the name of the traffic reconstruction project, I think that money would have been much better spent on simply posting the following table on these street signs.

I think we have a lot of people that will have trouble adjusting to this single column signal after years of using the dual column single of similar purpose. If you are a pedestrian or driver please be aware that some are not and probably will not be for another year as they adjust to this change.

red_signal A solid red arrow means STOP. Drivers turning left must stop.*
solid_yellow_signal A solid yellow arrow means stop if it is safe to do so.
flashing_yellow_signal A flashing yellow arrow means turns are permitted, but you must first yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians and then proceed with caution.
solid_green_signal A solid green arrow means turn left. Oncoming traffic must stop. Do not go straight.

New look to our main website

26 October, 2007 (13:34) | General News | By: Ben

Timberline Dealerships main website has had a face-lift. Many direct to employee email forms have been added. Click through links to google maps have been added on every listed address. Google provides (usually) great turn by turn driving directions. If you happen to have an iPhone, or a Shoretel with a slight modification, phone numbers are click through links too.

I’m testing out Windows Live Writer. I think it is a great tool and here are a few reasons why:

works with WordPress
allows me edit multiple blogs without logging into each blog
allows easy insertion of maps, pictures, and video (drag and drop anybody?)

However, I did not see any tag suggestion tool that works on WordPress 2.3.

Dialing Shoretel from a Web Page

26 July, 2007 (13:53) | Shoretel | By: Ben

Download Shoretel Web Dialer Here

Using these tiny scripts you can dial your Shortel phone by simply clicking a web page link. I believe Shortel is selling something a product like this. All I am asking for are links back to this page or to www.timberlinedealerships.com.

See install.txt for full notes. I am using Shoretel 6.1 on a XP workstation on IE7 and it works fine for me.

What this program does for you is registers tel: and callto: so that they can be dialed straight through to your shoretel deskphone.  It also adds right click dialing to selected numbers from web pages.

Please do not link directly to the file on this server.  Instead link to this web page.
