800 Service

There has been a fiber cut this morning affecting 800 service to Timberline. Our provider is working on a resolution. For now please use the direct numbers.

UPDATE 4:30PM:  800 Service is up again.

Islets of Langerhans

Today in 1922 Insulin was first used to treat diabetes on a 14-year-old diabetic where the patient nearly died from an allergic reaction. Diabetics today may not know Leonard Thompson’s name, but all who take injections have a bit to thank him for. After the impurity that nearly killed him was filtered out of the insulin, he went on to live another 13 years on shots.

Paul Langerhans in 1869 discovered some tissue clumps on the pancreas which later became known as the Islets of Langerhans. Science later found out just how important these insulin producing islets are.

I have watched several stores go in and out of the Jantzen Beach mall complex in Portland, OR. I still have a pristine Computer City mouse pad.  I also have a nearly full case of unopened floppy disk 10 packs from the same store.

Timberline Dealerships main website has had a face-lift. Many direct to employee email forms have been added. Click through links to google maps have been added on every listed address. Google provides (usually) great turn by turn driving directions. If you happen to have an iPhone, or a Shoretel with a slight modification, phone numbers are click through links too.

Alzheimer’s Disease is Diabetes Type 3 ???

Research is now pointing towards Alzheimer’s Disease is a form of diabetes.  If this really is the case, a lot of diabetes research can be applied to Alzheimer’s Disease treatment.
